zooday2 11.0917 Merit Badge Day at Woodland Park ZooOn September 17th, from 9AM to 3PM, Cascade District is sponsoring the 3rd Annual Merit Badge Day at the Woodland Park Zoo. The following merit badges will be offered: Mammal Study (limit of 30 scouts), Reptile/Amphibian (limit of 30 scouts), Forestry, Geology, Orienteering, Geocaching, and Veterinarian Medicine. Total registration will be limited to 250 scouts.

Registration is through the Council website at seattlebsa.org. Once on the site, go to the Volunteers/Scouts tab, scroll down and click Event Registration, then scroll down to Council Events and you’ll see the 3rd Annual Merit Badge Day at Woodland Park Zoo and a red “register” button — or link directly from the highlighted link below.

zooday1 11.0917 Merit Badge Day at Woodland Park ZooScouts in uniform will be admitted into the Zoo free with an accompanying paying adult ($17.50). Scouts will be limited to two classes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Please bring two blue merit badge cards signed by your Scoutmaster for the classes for which you register. Please remember to wear your uniform. You may also want to bring a lunch, although food is available in the Zoo. We will have an hour for lunch.

We are looking for additional merit badge counselors, or individuals who are knowledgeable on a particular badge and would like to register as a counselor, for all of the badges, except Mammal Study and Reptile/Amphibian.
