The best time for this tour is October, when the salmon are jumping! But it’s informative at any time. Plan for about an hour, more if you want to use their classroom for additional discussion.

7a6 Karcher Creek Wastewater Plant

Scouts who took a recent tour of the Karcher Creek Wastewater Plant proclaimed it the “best field trip ever.” This is a trip best reserved for Scouts with the maturity to be around open pits of “sludge”. Not only will they get to learn classroom-style about the plant and its functions, but they’ll be treated a full tour by Dean, including engineering and Lorisa’s science lab. Allow three hours; can be shorter if necessary.
