Joann FabricsNo, textiles is NOT just for girls. Every Scout should know about fabrics, weaves, and fibers. His safety could someday depend upon knowing the tensile strength of his gear. Or he simply might want to choose the lightest garments for backpacking, or the strongest for rappelling. There is a lot to learn!

Joann Fabrics (Silverdale) will put together a free class for Scouts working on their Textile badge. Afterward, you can arrange to use their classroom, if available, to finish the badge. Contact Martha to arrange a class. 692-1300.
